I got breast cancer in 1993.
My mother had the same disease
and had died from it. I thought it would be the end for me
as well but, after a mastectomy and chemo, I am still here,
thanking my Father in heaven for each day.
In 1996, my husband exited our
marriage of 32 years. I took
my 2 dogs and left for Colorado where my daughter lived.
It’s so beautiful here and I have finally found peace after
dealing with serious grief.
I enjoyed life with my daughter
and two granddaughters
when they lived here in Colorado Springs but they now
live in Michigan with my son-in-law.
My son served our country as
an officer in the Army in
Korea, Iraq and elsewhere. He and his wife are now
living in Germany.
I am so thankful to have my wonderful
family, my church,
many dear friends standing by me, and my painting.
I have always liked to color
and draw but when I began
oil painting, I discovered a wonderful way to express myself.
During my troubled years, my
world lacked color.
Now, I find joy in sharing the colors of my world with others.
Through my paintings, I can share the
warmth and peace I now have in my life.
